You will act as a key technical resource within the finance function, supporting complex accounting requirements and maintaining high standards of financial integrity and governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accurate, complete and timely reporting aligned to AASB / IFRS standards.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow), maintaining general ledger integrity and robust balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements and manage the end-to-end external audit process, including auditor engagement and issue resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with BAS, GST, PAYG and other regulatory obligations, including ABS and relevant statutory reporting requirements.
  • Apply and manage accounting for leases (AASB 16), fixed assets and inventory, ensuring accurate registers and compliant treatment.
  • Support executive reporting and management presentations, delivering clear, reliable financial insights.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and support capability development within the finance team.
  • Drive improvements in financial processes, internal controls and reporting frameworks to enhance audit readiness and business insight.
  • Support financial analysis and modelling to inform business performance and decision-making.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Preparation of statutory financial statements within a listed (ASX) or similarly regulated environment
    • External audit coordination, including managing auditor relationships and resolving technical issues
    • Application of AASB / IFRS accounting standards in practice, including complex or judgemental areas
  • Strong experience in financial reporting within a medium to large, multi-entity organisation
  • Experience operating within structured reporting cycles, with a strong focus on financial control, accuracy, and audit readiness
  • Strong ERP capability, with experience in enterprise financial systems (Workday highly regarded)

Highly Regarded:

  • Experience within an ASX-listed or reporting group structure
  • Exposure to complex, regulated industries (aviation, resources, engineering, infrastructure)
  • Experience supporting group consolidation and external reporting requirements
  •

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong technical accounting capability with excellent attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity and accountability in financial reporting.
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a structured and organised manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to translate financial data into practical insights.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
