Role Summary

CHC Helicopter has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Shipper to play a key role in our Delta, BC facility's logistical operations. This position involves managing shipment packing, invoice creation, freight booking, and leading the shipping team. This position is full-time fixed term for 1 year with the possibility of going to permanent. Join us in a dynamic environment where your contributions make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure parts are meticulously packed for safe transportation in accordance with strict quality control processes
  • Prepare precise and error-free shipping invoices
  • Complete necessary paperwork for customs requirements
  • Prioritize shipping based on parts requirement urgency
  • Lead and motivate the Shipping team to ensure swift and efficient movement of shipments
  • Coordinate with team members and Logistics Manager
  • Maintain clean and tidy warehouse environment
  • Occasionally, you may be called upon to lend a hand at our Richmond facility, adding variety to your role

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

  • Bring your extensive 5+ years of shipping experience to the table
  • Excel in computer skills with a wealth of experience in utilizing warehousing software and Microsoft Office programs
  • Knowledge of transportation of dangerous goods
  • Demonstrated experience in accurately invoicing and efficiently booking international shipments with carriers
  • Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role is preferred
  • Current or previous forklift certification
  • Aviation industry experience is a valuable asset that sets you apart
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Attention to detail and strong organization skills
  • Reliable and comfortable working in a team

The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain both a Controlled Goods Certification and a Secret Level Security Clearance through the Government of Canada.
