Role Summary

We have an exciting opportunity at CHC as we are looking for a Technical Services Engineer to join the team in Aberdeen. The Technical Services Engineer will specialise in the Sikorsky fleet type, as a subject matter expert, supporting the global company and operational business units. The Technical Services Engineer provides technical support and services to the operation through trouble shooting, fault finding, reliability analysis, AMP optimisation and OEM liaison to ensure maximum aircraft availability and utilisation, minimizing aircraft downtime. In this role, you will maintain standardization, drive continuous improvements, embrace new technologies, and provide technical assistance as required to the global Sikorsky fleet.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the Technical Services Engineer are:

  • Provide technical support for business across the global fleet liaising with the OEMs on technical issues as a subject matter expert on your fleet
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Control Centre, Planning and Reliability teams to increase operational availability on your fleet type
  • Support the Airworthiness organisation as required in support of your fleet
  • Monitor and act on engine and transmission health and performance data to maintain the integrity of your fleet
  • Collaborate with the fleet team to advise on modifications and fleet standardization, role changes or configuration
  • Carry out physical inspections or surveys on new or used aircraft to assess them for company requirements and standards
  • Strive for efficiency and cost savings for the organisation through innovative approaches and best practices
  • Embrace and promote the use of new technologies to enhance operational efficiency
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and departmental objectives

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Practical aircraft maintenance experience, including holding an aircraft maintenance engineer's license or an aeronautical degree
  • Significant experience in a technical or engineering role within the aviation industry
  • Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance, aviation safety regulations and operational support
  • Excellent communication skills, awareness of different cultural norms, able to communicate technical data to a wide range of audiences
  • Knowledge of aircraft reliability and availability improvement strategies
  • Ability to manage and analyse engine and transmission trends and performance
  • Ability to maintain and develop relationships with stakeholders, including Part 145, Airworthiness teams, Maintenance Support Centre and Planning
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to identifying and prioritising tasks, anticipating potential obstacles, and taking decisive action to ensure successful completion of objectives.
  • Effectively manages workload and responsibilities, demonstrating strong organisational skills.
  • Quickly assesses urgent issues by identifying core problems and gathering relevant data. Applies analytical thinking to evaluate and resolve challenges efficiently.
  • Builds trust through honest and open communication.
  • Must be available for international travel as required
