Role Summary

 

As the Manager of Crew Planning Maintenance, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the scheduling and resource allocation of technical personnel to ensure smooth and efficient maintenance operations. The role requires close collaboration with training coordinators and other stakeholders to align crew planning with operational, regulatory, and union requirements. You will monitor working hours and ensure compliance with internal policies and labor agreements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, experienced in personnel planning, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and financial awareness are key, along with a commitment to teamwork and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Coordinate and optimize the allocation of technical personnel and resources to meet current and future operational demands.
  2. Maintain and assist in developing amongst others, efficient schedules and compensation for technical staff in line with maintenance plans, regulatory requirements, customer needs and the union.
  3. Coordinate training needs and schedules with the Training and Apprentice Coordinator and when relevant, supervisor/manager.
  4. Ensure the technical team receive their work schedule, in accordance with agreements and regulations.
  5. Maintain an overview of operational absence, costs, and limitations affecting technical teams while monitoring and tracking working hours, active shifts, rest periods, and overtime to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  6. Manage vacation requests, ensuring alignment with operational needs in accordance with agreements and regulations
  7. Perform additional administrative and operational tasks as required to support the department's goals.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

Required qualifications:

  • Relevant experience or formal degree within, Human Resource Management, Management or other relevant degrees.
  • Experience with crew planning or people management
  • Experience from the Aviation industry is an advantage
  • Knowledge and experience of Collective Bargaining Agreements is an advantage
  • Proficient in Norwegian and English, verbal and written

Skills/experience:

  • Excellent skills in planning systems and general good IT knowledge
  • Excellent understanding of the various CLA, regulations and company policies and procedures
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, multi-task and work calmly under pressure
  • Ability to prioritise a heavy workload in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, collaboration skills and decision-making skills
  • Operates with the highest integrity, tackles problems with ingenuity, constantly pursues excellence, and exercises a high level of communication
  • Strong financial understanding, and the ability to ensure that crew are planned cost-efficient
