Role Summary

CHC are seeking a Crew Planner to join our team based in the Perth Corporate Office.

 

Reporting to the Regional Operations Control Centre Manager, this role is responsible for the scheduling of training for pilots and technical crew in accordance with the CHC Operations Manuals and CASA regulations. This role will be required to coordinate with the short-term planners and third party vendors to ensure the training is arranged in the most cost and time efficient manner.

 

The role involves the development and management of the rosters for the CHC Australia Offshore Operations (>30 days). The planner will analyse the rosters for pilots to ensure compliance is met with respect to the approved Work Practices under the FRMS, roster coverage is maintained and compliance to the EBA.

 

Cross Training in other areas of the Regional Operations Control Centre (ROCC) is also part of the role to ensure the business and Operations Centre has built in resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a safety champion, promoting safe practices and challenging unsafe behaviors within the business
  • Coordinate training plans and ensure all required SIMs are captured and scheduled in consultation with the SIM Training Planner
  • Work with Pilot Trainers to organize base training and compliance checks
  • Oversee third-party crew training schedules and assist with travel and accommodation bookings in line with cost-saving initiatives
  • Develop and manage offshore pilot rosters, including amendments and leave requests, ensuring all schedules are accurate and cost-effective
  • Ensure all crew are qualified for their assigned contracts and communicate schedules and updates efficiently to all team members
  • Assist with long-term scheduling and be available for additional hours, travel, and managing company-issued mobile phone responsibilities

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

  • Minimum Year 12; experience as a Scheduler/Planner with knowledge of Enterprise Agreement
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Suite (Excel), and experience with document management systems
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team
  • Experience in building relationships across all levels, working in diverse cultural environments, and adapting to change in a fast-paced setting
