Role Summary

This role is responsible for the provision and continuous development of CHC Safety Management System (SMS) activities within the Norway business unit.

The role expectation is to openly provide an active interface between the S&C department and the AOC organisation in maintaining the standards of that department by proactively promoting and applying the principles of the CHC Integrated Safety Management System.

Key Responsibilities

  • A visible safety champion who will support and develop improvements in overall safety culture and behaviour
  • Conduct, lead and coordinate with team members to complete assigned audits, in support of the quality audit program to provide effective oversight of the Norway operations both onshore and offshore.
  • Support local department managers to undertake specific safety related activities such as
  • Management of Change
  • Risk Assessment
  • Corrective and Preventative Action (CPA) development
  • SQID transactions
  • Hosting external auditors (Regulator, Clients etc)
  • Investigate relevant accidents, incidents and matters related to the flight operational area of expertise, including the development of recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Demonstrate alignment to the CHC Values – Agility, Collaboration, Innovation, and Simplicity.

Perform helideck inspections to verify BSL D 5-1 compliance.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

EDUCATION:

  • Possess or has held professional aviation accreditations such as Aircraft Certifying staff, pilot licenses, either rotary wing or fixed wing
  • Attained a tertiary Aviation qualification such as Bachelor/Masters of aviation management, Aviation Safety management etc
  • Have evidenced training experience within an aviation support function.
  • Accredited training in Aviation Safety Management disciplines (highly regarded)

Sufficient experience may cover for some of the above.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Lead Auditor (preferred) and
  • Incident Investigator (highly regarded) qualification and experience
  • Demonstrated experience in Rotary Wing Offshore / SAR Air Operators environment (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in fixed wing charter, RPT or general aviation environments (Preferred)

Experienced with Safety Management Systems (highly regarded)

 

CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:   

  • Knowledge of EASA regulations applicable to an Air Operator
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office software suite
  • Self-motivated and results oriented with a focus on delivery of safety
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication and presentation skills (Norwegian Language preferred)
  • Ability to work in a rapidly evolving and dynamic environment

Demonstrated team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to participate and deliver outcomes within a team of aviation professionals
