Role Summary

We are looking for a HSE Specialist to manage the HSE program at our main base in Den Helder and the Global Distribution Centre (GDC) at Schiphol. You will be responsible for overseeing compliance with local legislation, coordinating activities with HSE Representatives, and implementing various HSE policies/programs in collaboration with the global HSE team, of which you will be a part. This is a part-time position (50%) with flexible working arrangements that can be negotiated.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor compliance of local regulations related to health, safety, and the environment;
  • Implement and monitor health and safety policies, procedures and programs developed by the global HSE team;
  • Conduct risk assessments, analyze data and recommend corrective action plans;
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and recommend corrective measures to prevent similar occurrences;
  • Identify best practices and communicate lessons learned;
  • Perform HSE audits and monthly workplace safety inspections; 
  • Oversee emergency response plans and coordinate emergency exercises; 
  • Implement safety training programs for employees; 
  • Coordinate and oversee the activities of the local HSE Representatives; 
  • Oversee the health surveillance program; 
  • Ensure proper chemical management program;
  • Ensure compliance with the Dutch Arbo legislation.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

Required Qualifications (Education, Qualifications, Certifications)

  • MBO 4 working- and thinking level; 
  • Minimum 3 years relevant work experience within health and safety work incl. audits and investigations;
  • Good knowledge of the ARBO legislation and other applicable HSE regulatory requirements and guidelines;
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001.

Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in Oil and Gas, SAR, and aviation business preferred;
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office software suite;
  • Experience with Safety Management Systems is desirable;
  • Excellent verbal and written Dutch and English communication skills.
