Role Summary

CHC Helicopters Services are hiring for Aviation Technical Support Maintenance Engineers with a Mechanic or Licensed Engineering background to support the Maintenance Support Centre (MSC) in our operations in Rzeszow, Poland. This role will have the primary function of providing technical, engineering, logistic, HUMS support and review in direct support of CHC Helicopter Services Worldwide Maintenance Operations. The MSC will operate 24/7/365 support.


The Technical Support Specialist (TSS) will act as part of the MSC team who are accountable for the identification, provision and communication of technical and engineering support services to all CHC Helicopter Services (HS) Maintenance Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify safe, approved, and effective solutions to technical support requests from Line Maintenance operations in compliance with regional regulatory and continuing airworthiness guidelines. Assure these solutions are within the boundaries of CHC HS maintenance and continuing airworthiness approved expositions.
  • Liaise with maintenance and flight operations as required to provide effective and expedient solutions to return AOG aircraft to service.
  • Communicate with OEM’s, regulators, vendors and internal technical expertise in order to acquire approved maintenance and/or repair data, OEM advice, approval or deferral solutions as appropriate.
  • Offer troubleshooting advice to maintenance crews by reference to related publications and/or historical data or through liaison with equipment/platform expertise, both internal and external as required.
  • Capture and log support requests and solutions as required by MSC policies and procedures by use of designated maintenance and event tracing software.
  • Along with other elements of the MSC coordinate all technical aspects of AOG recovery whilst ensuring maximum leverage and efficiency from available resources both regionally and globally.
  • Provide structured, prioritized, accurate and unambiguous technical support requests to internal (Fleet Technical Specialists), and external (OEM) or other technical support organizations in order to achieve expedited technical support solutions as required.
  • Track aircraft technical status reports and monitor for aircraft repetitive defects and inform the relevant platform technical specialists if action is considered to be necessary.
  • Perform logistic functions as required to enable quick and efficient solutions to minimize operational impact.
  • Place Purchase Order directly with vendors, if necessary.
  • Carry out necessary technical office administration as required including but not limited to publication, revisions, incident reporting and related corrective actions etc.
  • Monitor CHC HS aircraft technical status system and provide status reports as necessary.
  • Maintain an ongoing professional working relationship with all elements of the CHC HS worldwide maintenance operation and other external/internal organizations in order to secure commercially sound support to flying operations
  • Play a key role in CHC’s ability to set the standard for safety, helping to maintain our position as a world leader.
  • International travel may be required
  • Plus may perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

  • Hands on mechanic/engineering experience in rotary wing or fixed wing operations
  • AME/ LAME (Aircraft maintenance engineer / mechanic / technician) in civil or military environment is beneficial
  • Technical Diploma or equivalent experience and endorsement with a formal aviation maintenance qualification.
  • Relevant experience in the Aviation Industry and in a Technical Support Role
  • Exposure to one or more of the following; S92, S76, EC225, AS332 series and AW139 A/C. is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • EASA Part-66 AML (Aircraft Maintenance License) with TR (Type rating) Desirable
  • Good customer service skills and experienced with communicating to vendors and OEM’s as needed to resolve AOG matters.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel and experience with electronic maintenance documentation systems such as SAP or AMOS.
  • Prior logistic experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly evolving and dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented with a focus on quality.
  • Good English skills both verbal and written.
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent collaborative problem solving skills with an ability to implement solutions.
